About the animal:

Sunny’s welfare background consists of abuse, neglect and abandonment all within the first year of her life. We rescued her from the Madera County shelter when she was 11 months old, where her mange was so severe that the officer who saved her thought she was a burn victim. She is an absolute sweetheart with humans, but has poor socialization with dogs, (I believe she grew up in an atmosphere where she had to fight to survive). She currently lives in a home with other dogs, but has badly injured our small one in fights. She gets along with our large, docile older dog but she simply cannot control impulses or regulate her emotions in high stress situations, and although these fights are fairly rare, it is incredibly hard to know what will set her off (she is most likely trigger stacking). Sunny has never shown any signs of aggression towards humans or large dogs. She truly is a great girl who unfortunately had a very traumatic upbringing. She needs to live in an environment where she is the only dog and has an active owner who works from home or is retired, that can give her lots of attention and love!
