My partner and I recently had a baby. I had made arrangements for someone to sit/foster my chihuahua mix , Punkin, for a few months while we got settled in with the new baby. That arrangement fell through last minute and we managed it as best we could. Now, it’s becoming more obvious that Punkin would do best in an environment that gives her the full measure of care and attention she craves.
Punkin is a wonderful dog and her behavior ranges between loving housecat and angry badger. She can be very insistent and demanding. She jumps and tries to lick your face if she thinks she can make it. She’s endlessly cruising for treats (this helps w motivating her, but she also gets very bratty)
Her favorite w activities include: begging for treats and…reminding you that you didn’t give her a treat recently.
I’d love for someone who has had a tempestuous chihuahua or terrier in the past to fall in love w Punkin and realize that there was something missing in their lives. And that something was nine pounds of bad-breathed, cuddly, entitled agent of chaos. 😉
Ideal candidate would be someone who works from home and has some experience w small, anxious dogs. She DOES NOT do well with other dogs or cats (fearful) and isn’t really suited for homes w children (anxious around noise, activity). She has bitten a few times (at the vet and once when I tried to free her leg from her harness which she’d slipped thru the neck hole).
If you work from home or are mostly a homebody, she’ll love to cuddle on your lap.
