The Link Between Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence @ Online event
Apr 13 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

You’re invited to a free, special seminar on the link between domestic violence and animal abuse and what we can do to prevent it.

Join Center for Domestic Peace and Marin Humane to build community around this critical topic. We’ll take a deeper dive into the research, explore ways to identify abuse, and provide practical steps to take to help people and animals in need. April is dedicated to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

National expert Dr. Phil Arkow, the coordinator of the National Link Coalition – the National Resource Center on the The Link between Animal Abuse and Human Violence, will be the speaker at this important event. You will also learn about resources both Marin Humane and Center for Domestic Peace offer to people and pets in our community.

This free seminar is designed for professionals in the fields of law enforcement, veterinary medicine, animal welfare, and human services, yet all interested are welcome.

It’s Raining Cats & Dogs: A Collaborative Art Exhibition @ Artist Within: A Cedars Gallery
Sep 10 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

In a summer of severe drought, save water, pray for rain, and visit the Cedars Artist Within Gallery where it’s raining cats and dogs! Cedars has teamed up with Marin Humane for a purr-fect partnership and collaboration for this current exhibition.

Cedars artists had the op-paw-tunity to work from over eighty photos of pets lucky enough to have Marin Humane staff as their guardians. The result: a show worth wagging your tail over!

The opening reception will be held on Friday, September 10, 6 – 8pm, and the exhibit will be viewable at the gallery September 10 – November 26, 2021.
