Want to know what things are like at Marin Humane right now? Come join us for a fur-tastic morning learning all about how we are staying committed to helping animals.

This special camp will take place via Zoom so you can meet animals, play games, and learn from the comfort of your home. We’ll go on a virtual ride along with one of our Animal Services officers, meet some of WildCare’s animal ambassadors, and see a few exotic companion animals!

You’ll receive a kit delivered to your home with crafts and swag.

Registration closes at 11:59pm on Thursday, October 22nd, to allow for timely delivery of camp kits.

This camp is designed for kids ages 8-12 in Marin County.

Facilitated by a professional grief counselor from Hospice by the Bay, this free virtual meeting will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique, so come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.

CANCELLED Virtual Animal Photography for Kids @ Online Zoom workshop

Join us for a fun virtual photography workshop! Our theme will be “Fun with Furry Friends” as you photograph daily activities of your own companion animals. Prior camera experience is not required. Instruction and handouts on basic photography principles will be provided and the main focus of the workshop will be on techniques to capture great photos.

What you’ll need:
Digital camera or any device that has a camera
Memory card (empty) or ability to email photos

At the conclusion of the workshop each student will mail their digital storage card to the instructor or email/upload photos to a Dropbox link. Photos will be uploaded to a private gallery for viewing and the card will be returned by mail. Each student will receive a set of five original greeting cards featuring their favorite photos.

The class will be taught by Kathie Meier, longtime Marin resident, Marin Humane volunteer, and avid photographer.

Ages 8 and up.

VIRTUAL One-Day Camp: Dog Training! @ Online Zoom class

Calling all aspiring dog trainers! In this virtual one-day camp kids will learn dog training techniques used by Marin Humane’s very own dog trainers. You’ll receive a kit with all the supplies you need. You just need to provide the dog!

We’ll also learn about dog body language and, of course, meet some furry friends!

This camp is designed for kids ages 6 and up.

Registration will close on Thursday, November 19 to allow for timely delivery of the kits.

VIRTUAL Paint Your Pet Workshop @ Online Zoom workshop

Paint a portrait of your pet under the guidance of an experienced artist! No previous experience is needed

This workshop is family friendly and designed for painters of all ages.

Instructor provides: paint, canvas with pet sketch, and paintbrushes.
Participants provide: pet photo, water, and a place to paint.

Paint kits will be available for curbside pickup at San Rafael Wine and Design. More information will be given upon registration. Please notify us if you will need assistance picking up your paint kits.

After you’ve registered for the workshop, please email a high-quality photo of your pet to: education@marinhumane.org with the subject line “Paint Your Pet.”

Photo requirements:
1. Headshots only
2. Very clear/not at all blurry
3. Camera level to the pet
4. Eyes open
5. Mouth closed
6. Close-up

The instructor will transfer the outline of your pet onto a 11″ x 14″ canvas before the workshop. The canvas and all other paint supplies will be provided!

Price is per animal drawn. If you want to paint two animals, please purchase two tickets.

Photos must be received no later than Sunday, November 29.
