Cat Workshops Dog Classes
Facilitated by a professional grief counselor from Hospice by the Bay, this free virtual meeting will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique, so come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.
Interested parties should call Mimi DeGennaro, LCSW, at 415.444.9205. She will review expectations and accept registrations. A direct Zoom link will be emailed to those who are enrolled.
Registration deadline for this June 1 meeting is Wednesday, May 27.
Are you a first-time kitten guardian or has it been awhile since you’ve had a kitten? Best practices of kitten care have evolved. Confused by the dizzying array of toys, food, and litter? Is your kitten hiding or biting you? Learn how to alleviate problem behaviors like jumping on the counter and scratching furniture. Socializing kittens is an important part of their education. This is an hour online class using Zoom, so a good internet connection is necessary. Not sure about Zoom? We’ll help you get set up before the workshop starts.

Marin Humane’s Share a Book program works closely with local teachers, reading specialists and librarians to help children improve literacy skills while offering them an opportunity to have fun reading – to dogs!
Please call the library to reserve a spot.
Join us at Kitty Corner in the Red Hill Shopping Center in San Anselmo for “Hoppy Hour” and meet some of our wonderful rabbits (and maybe guinea pigs) available for adoption.
Hoppy Hour is a great opportunity to find out if a rabbit would be a good fit for your family. Learn what rabbits need to live a long and healthy life, what type of housing is best for them, what kind toys they like, and much more.
Our animal-lovin’ crew will be on hand to answer all of your bunny questions, so hop on over… you might just find the perfect “bun” to adopt.
People only, please – no pets allowed. No kitty adoptions during this event.
This is an online Zoom class. The instructor will help you connect to Zoom if you haven’t used it. The Zoom software is free for participants.
Bored kitty at home?
Cats need what scientists call “enrichment” to be truly happy. Boredom is stressful for kitties and can lead to health and behavior problems. Learn simple, inexpensive ways to significantly enrich the life of your feline companion.

LAST DAY!
Marin Humane Calendar Photo Contest
For almost 15 years, we’ve been publishing a pet calendar to raise funds to help the animals. For the 2021 Calendar, we want to feature your beloved pets!
It’s easy to participate! Simply submit your favorite photo of your pet, and start campaigning for votes. Don’t forget to tell everyone – your family, friends, and social media followers – and then watch for the votes roll in.
There are 13 full pages to win (the cover and each month). There are three categories: dogs, cats, and other domestic pets like birds, reptiles, guinea pigs, etc. The top fundraiser will be awarded the cover, with the next four spots from each category being awarded a Pet of the Month page.
All proceeds from entry fees and votes will help us provide shelter and care for the animals at Marin Humane.
Ends 6/26/20 at 5 pm.
Many people believe that cats can’t be trained, but they CAN be. We’ll teach you how to communicate with your cat and provide mental stimulation using positive reinforcement techniques to train away unwanted behaviors. This is a really great way to bond, or enhance your bond, with your cat.
This is a virtual Zoom class. If you haven’t used Zoom before, we can help you get set up before class starts.
