Facilitated by a professional grief counselor from By the Bay Health, this free virtual meeting will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique, so come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.
Interested parties should call Mimi DeGennaro, LCSW, at 415.444.9205. She will review expectations and accept registrations. A direct Zoom link will be emailed to those who are enrolled.
Registration deadline for the Nov 7 meeting is Wednesday, Nov 2.
Marin Humane’s Share a Book program works closely with local teachers and librarians to help children improve literacy skills while offering them an opportunity to have fun reading – to dogs!

A mobile adoption event hosted by our partners. Hopalong Animal Rescue. Come meet some adoptable pups who are looking for a new home!
Can you imagine having to give up your pet simply because you couldn’t afford food or veterinary care? Sadly, many people in our community are facing that very real dilemma.
So we’re helping hundreds of families through our Pet Safety Net, providing:
- Free community clinics, administering vaccinations, microchips, flea meds, and more for hundreds of dogs and cats each year.
- Pet food deliveries to people’s home and to food pantries.
And with your donations, we can continue helping treasured pets stay in their loving homes.
There are three easy ways to help!
- Buy an e-gift card from Amazon, Target, or Safeway and email it to petfooddrive@marinhumane.org. We can then buy the needed food.
- Buy an item (or two!) from our Amazon wish list or Chewy wish list and it’ll be delivered directly to us.
- Drop off pet food donations in the donation barrels at our main campus in Novato. We especially need dry and canned cat food, canned dog food, and flea medication (Advantage for cats, Advantix for dogs).
You can also drop off gift cards (we love Pet Food Express and Woodlands Pet Food!)

For children ages 8-12
Grab a brush and paint a portrait of your pet! Local artist Claire Raymond will help young artists paint a creative and realistic portrait of their pet. Then, artists will enjoy a brief tour of the shelter and a snack.
Please list any dietary needs or restrictions when registering.
After registering for the workshop, please email a high-quality photo of your pet to education@marinhumane.org (just one pet per canvas – head shots work best). We’ll transfer the outline of your pet onto a 9″ x 12″ canvas before the program. The canvas, easel, and all other paint supplies will be provided.
