One of Marin’s most beloved events, Woofstock, celebrates our love for animals. This year we can’t host the event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but that doesn’t mean our animals still can’t use your support. Celebrate Woofstock this year by entering to win your own personal wine cellar or a case of delicious pinot noir.

To purchase tickets in-person, visit the shelter between 10 am and 4 pm with your check or credit card and one of our volunteer greeters can process your payment. No cash payments accepted.

ONLINE Kittens 101 @ Online Zoom class

Are you a first-time kitten guardian or has it been awhile since you’ve had a kitten? Best practices of kitten care have evolved. Confused by the dizzying array of toys, food, and litter?  Is your kitten hiding or biting you? Learn how to alleviate problem behaviors like jumping on the counter and scratching furniture. Socializing kittens is an important part of their education.

This is an online ZOOM class.

Learn practical tips for building a positive relationship with your resident feline(s) and how to provide for the 5 basic needs of all cats. We’ll talk about how to prevent litter box problems and destructive scratching, and how to play with your cat. Plus, we’ll share our favorite food, litter and toy products. ONLINE Working with Shy Felines @ Online Zoom workshop

This workshop demonstrates techniques to help socialize shy kittens and cats.  It is intended for people who have adopted shy kittens or cats or folks who are interested in helping Marin Humane foster shy kittens and cats.

It’s easy to participate — just submit a favorite photo of your cute canine, fabulous feline, or other pets, and encourage your family and friends to support the shelter animals by voting for your pet — each dollar equals a vote and much-needed funds for the shelter! Top vote-getters will be featured on the cover or as one of the pets of the month throughout the year, and all entrants will be included on the collage pages!

The contest starts today and ends on June 4, 2021. Each entry (and each vote) helps the shelter animals!

ONLINE How To Train Your Cat @ Online Zoom class

Virtual Pet Loss Support Group @ Online Zoom meeting

Facilitated by a professional grief counselor from Hospice by the Bay, this free virtual meeting will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique, so come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.

Interested parties should call Mimi DeGennaro, LCSW, at 415.444.9205. She will review expectations and accept registrations. A direct Zoom link will be emailed to those who are enrolled.

Registration deadline for the June 7meeting is Wednesday, June 2.
