Virtual Pet Loss Support Group @ Online Zoom meeting

Facilitated by a professional grief counselor from Hospice by the Bay, this free virtual meeting will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique, so come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.

Interested parties should call Mimi DeGennaro, LCSW, at 415.444.9205. She will review expectations and accept registrations. A direct Zoom link will be emailed to those who are enrolled.

Registration deadline for this March 1 meeting is Wednesday, February 24.

Learn practical tips for building a positive relationship with your resident feline(s) and how to provide for the 5 basic needs of all cats. We’ll talk about how to prevent litter box problems and destructive scratching, and how to play with your cat. Plus, we’ll share our favorite food, litter and toy products. Perfect for new and seasoned cat guardians alike!

Fostering Shy Felines @ Online Zoom workshop

Are you a cat lover wanting to foster? We are in need of foster homes in or near Marin who will transform our scared and unsure felines into confident and socialized adoption animals. This free workshop will show you techniques to help socialize shy kittens and cats.  Watching a scared/nervous kitten or cat blossom is extremely gratifying and rewarding. If your home is quiet and your family is patient, you might be the perfect fit to help these felines come out of their shell.

Marin Humane provides all of the supplies and behavior assistance you’ll need.

One of Marin’s most beloved events, Woofstock, celebrates our love for animals. This year we can’t host the event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but that doesn’t mean our animals still can’t use your support. The Link Between Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence @ Online event

You’re invited to a free, special seminar on the link between domestic violence and animal abuse and what we can do to prevent it.

Join Center for Domestic Peace and Marin Humane to build community around this critical topic. We’ll take a deeper dive into the research, explore ways to identify abuse, and provide practical steps to take to help people and animals in need. April is dedicated to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

National expert Dr. Phil Arkow, the coordinator of the National Link Coalition – the National Resource Center on the The Link between Animal Abuse and Human Violence, will be the speaker at this important event. You will also learn about resources both Marin Humane and Center for Domestic Peace offer to people and pets in our community.

This free seminar is designed for professionals in the fields of law enforcement, veterinary medicine, animal welfare, and human services, yet all interested are welcome.
