Cat Workshops Dog Classes
Facilitated by a professional grief counselor from Hospice by the Bay, this free virtual meeting will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique, so come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.
Interested parties should call Mimi DeGennaro, LCSW, at 415.444.9205. She will review expectations and accept registrations. A direct Zoom link will be emailed to those who are enrolled.
Registration deadline for this February 1 meeting is Wednesday, January 27.
Many people believe that cats can’t be trained, but they CAN be! We’ll teach you how to communicate with your cat and provide mental stimulation using positive reinforcement techniques to train away unwanted behaviors. This is a really great way to bond, or enhance your bond, with your cat.

Calling all aspiring dog trainers! In this virtual one-day camp, kids will learn dog training techniques used by Marin Humane’s very own dog trainers. You’ll receive a kit with all the supplies you need. You just need to provide the dog!
We’ll also learn about dog body language and, of course, meet some furry friends!
This camp is designed for kids ages 6 and up.
Registration will close on Thursday, February 18 to allow for timely delivery of the kits.

Cats need what scientists call “enrichment” to be truly happy. Boredom is stressful for cats and can lead to health and behavior problems. Does your kitty try to get your attention by doing naughty things? Learn simple, inexpensive ways to significantly enrich the life of your feline companion.

We’ll talk about how to prevent litter box problems and destructive scratching, and how to play with your cat. Plus, we’ll share our favorite food, litter and toy products. Are you a cat lover wanting to foster? We are in need of foster homes in or near Marin who will transform our scared and unsure felines into confident and socialized adoption animals. This free workshop will show you techniques to help socialize shy kittens and cats. Watching a scared/nervous kitten or cat blossom is extremely gratifying and rewarding. If your home is quiet and your family is patient, you might be the perfect fit to help these felines come out of their shell.
Marin Humane provides all of the supplies and behavior assistance you’ll need.
