CANCELLED: Pet First Aid & CPR @ Marin Humane

WE’RE SORRY, THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Presented by American Safety & Health Institute certified instructor Peter Pay, this hands-on workshop teaches basic lifesaving techniques and preparedness, including basic pet first aid, CPR training, rescue breathing, restraint and muzzling, choking management, poison response, and much more.

Included in the First Aid & CPR workshop is a first aid workbook and completion certificate.

Please leave your animals at home. “Resus-a-dog” and “Resus-a-cat” manikins will be available for hands-on training.

Cost $65

CANCELLED: Wildcare’s Family Nature Day @ Stafford Lake

FREE FAMILY EVENT!

Join WildCare along with Marin Humane, Marin County Parks, Marin Mammal Center, and others for Family Nature Day honoring Elizabeth Terwilliger on Saturday, April 4, from 10 am – 2 pm at Stafford Lake in Novato.

Learn about our local wildlife “Mrs. T-style” and join in activities including using a net to capture aquatic life, dissect an owl pellet, meet WildCare’s live non-releasable wildlife, take a naturalist-led hike, create a wildlife-themed craft, go birding at the end of the lake, or take the “Nature Scavenger Hunt Challenge.”

Bring a picnic to enjoy on the lake shore.

This is a FREE event, including parking, at Stafford Lake County Park.

ONLINE: Healthy & Happy Pet Chickens @ ONLINE

Keep your pet chickens happy and healthy!

This class will be presented ONLINE by Isabelle Cnudde of Clorofil, a nonprofit micro-sanctuary for farmed animals. You’ll learn how to enrich your backyard, introduce new chickens to your flock, perform health checks, and treat common injuries and illnesses.

This class is FREE, but donations are always welcome.

CANCELLED Support after the Loss of a Loved Animal @ Marin Humane

Pet loss support groupWE’RE SORRY, THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN  CANCELLED.

Facilitated by a professional Hospice by the Bay grief counselor, this support group will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique and if you have experienced a similar loss, come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.

Calling Marin County students in Grades 1–8! Use your creativity to design our 2020 Summer Camp T-Shirt.

 

Contest Rules

Original artwork (no clip art) must be submitted on 8 ½ x 11 paper. Artwork must be completely flat (i.e. no 3D art or objects glued to paper) and have no words or text. Submissions cannot be returned.

Prizes

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from each category will have their artwork displayed at Marin Humane during the month of April – Volunteer Appreciation Month. The Grand Prize winner will have their artwork used on Marin Humane’s 2020 Humane Summer Camp T-Shirts (attended by more than 300 students). The Grand Prize winner and the top three from each category will be notified on March 21, 2020, and all entrants are invited to come and view the artwork on display. The Grand Prize winner is also invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon in April for special recognition.
