Support after the Loss of a Loved Animal @ Marin Humane

Pet loss support groupFacilitated by a professional Hospice by the Bay grief counselor, this support group will allow you to connect with others who have experienced the loss of a loved animal. The grief we experience when we lose an animal companion is unique and if you have experienced a similar loss, come share your grief and learn skills to help you on your journey toward healing.

What Is My Cat Saying @ Marin Humane

Cats are probably the most misunderstood of all domestic animals. This workshop is full of photos and video to demonstrate cats unintentional and intentional nonverbal communication signals. Learning these signals will help you and your feline companion communicate better with each other.

Behavior Buzz: Special Topics in Learning and Behavior with Dr. Susan Friedman

THREE-DAY SEMINAR: Saturday, Feb 15, Sunday, Feb 16, and Monday, Feb 17
Three-day package: $500

Dr. Susan Friedman is a psychology professor at Utah State University who has pioneered the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to captive and companion animals. ABA, with its roots in human learning, offers a scientifically sound teaching technology and ethical standard that can improve the lives of all learners.

Students from 22 different countries have participated in Susan’s online courses. She has written chapters on learning and behavior for veterinary texts and is a frequent contributor to popular magazines. Her articles appear around the world in eleven languages and she has presented seminars for a wide variety of professional organizations.

She has been nominated for the Media Award given by the International Association of Behavior Analysis for her efforts to disseminate to pet owners, veterinarians, animal trainers, and zookeepers the essential tools they need to empower and enrich the lives of the animals in their care.
