Hoppy Hour @ Kitty Corner
Jul 9 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Join us at Kitty Corner in the Red Hill Shopping Center in San Anselmo for “Hoppy Hour” and meet some of our wonderful rabbits (and maybe guinea pigs) available for adoption.

Hoppy Hour is a great opportunity to find out if a rabbit would be a good fit for your family. Learn what rabbits need to live a long and healthy life, what type of housing is best for them, what kind toys they like, and much more.

Our animal-lovin’ crew will be on hand to answer all of your bunny questions, so hope on over… you might just find the perfect “bun” to adopt.

People only, please – no pets allowed. No kitty adoptions during this event.

LEAP Summer Speaker Series @ Marin Humane
Jul 14 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Humane, Sustainable, Organic: What Do the Labels Really Mean?

Compassionate Living continues the LEAP (Loving Earth, Animals, and People) Marin Summer Speaker Series at Marin Humane with Hope Bohanec, nationally recognized author and leader in the animal protection movement, as the featured speaker.

The event is FREE and open to the public.
6:30 pm – vegan cheese tasting
7:00 pm – presentation

Active in animal protection and environmental activism for over 25 years, Hope will explore the new trend of alternative, small scale animal farming and address critical questions such as: Is free-range better for the environment? Is organic more humane? What is sustainable agriculture?

Hope Bohanec is the executive director of Compassionate Living, a Sonoma County-based vegan advocacy organization, and projects manager for United Poultry Concerns. She is the primary organizer for UPC’s annual Conscious Eating Conference at UC Berkeley as well as Sonoma County VegFest and Berkeley Earth Day. Hope is the author of The Ultimate Betrayal: Is There Happy Meat?

The Marin Summer Speaker Series is co-sponsored by Marin Humane, Miyoko’s Kitchen, 350Marin Climate-Diet Team, and Good Earth Natural Foods. It is produced by Compassionate Living, a Bay Area non-profit organization working to end farm animal suffering and help our planet thrive with plant-based eating. The final event in the Summer Series will feature Dr. Justyna Sanders, a California-based medical doctor and founder/CEO of Prescription Lifestyle on July 28.
