Pet Rental Security Deposit

Two young children sit on a bed and play with a catFinding the right home for you, your family and your pets can be challenging. Even more so if there’s an additional cost of a pet security deposit. No one should have to give up their beloved pet because they can’t afford these costs.

We want to ensure that moving doesn’t mean you have to give up your beloved pet.

We’re excited to partner with Community Action Marin (CAM) to help low-income Marin County residents with pet rental security deposits. Up to $500 is available for qualifying individuals or families.

This financial support will be paid directly to the housing manager/landlord.

Please read how to qualify and submit an application:

  • Are you the legal guardian of this pet(s)? Applicants must be 18 years or older and the legal guardian of the pet(s).
  • Are you in Marin County? We’re only able to help with rental properties that are in Marin County.
  • Is your pet(s) spayed/neutered? If not, are you willing to have them spayed/neutered? Marin Humane is committed to spay/neuter to end pet overpopulation so we require that any pet enrolled in the program be altered. We are able to assist with spay/neuter upon acceptance into the program. Additionally, dogs must be licensed in Marin County.
