Our adoption process is easy!
We have all kinds of critters (and other fun stuff) at our main campus in Novato and kitties available for adoption at Kitty Corner in San Anselmo.
Visit our animals. Go for a walk, throw a ball, break out the cat toys. Spend as much time as you need to know if it’s the right fit.
Take a moment to fill out a Pets & People Profile before you arrive.
This profile will help us make the perfect match for you and your family. Simply download the profile and either fax it to 415.382.1349, mail it, or just return it in person when you come to meet your new friend!
We’re here to answer all your questions – after all, we’ve spent time getting to know each critter with whiskers, wagging tails, and floppy ears. And we’re professional matchmakers.
And as we all know, true love can take a little time so there’s no need to rush. You may even want to come back for a second visit to see if it’s right. And since adopting an animal is a family affair, bring the whole gang! We can’t wait to be a part of your happily ever after.
If you’re interested in adopting a friend for your resident rabbit, guinea pig, or rat, we offer pet bonding advice.
After adopting your new buddy, stop by Animal Outfitters, our on-campus pet supply store, where new adopters get a 20% discount for one week after you adopt your pet.
The entire adoption process can take some time but it’s well worth it! After all, you can’t rush true love.

Between microchips, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and feeding, care for a healthy animal in our shelter costs $500 on average. As an open door shelter, we treat all animals, including a number of them with medical issues, and that can quickly double–and in some cases more than triple–that amount.
