Above & Beyond

A safety net for pets—and the people who love them.

Imagine you’re between jobs or struggling to make ends meet. Suddenly, your dog or cat gets hit by a car and needs surgery. Your savings are gone, your credit cards are maxed out, and your beloved pet is in pain. What choice would you make?

For 32 years, our Pet Care Assistance program has successfully provided pet food, supplies and veterinary care assistance to low-income seniors living in Marin.

Over the past two years, we’ve seen a 30% increase in desperate calls from pet guardians of all ages with urgent pleas for help. So many members of our community find themselves financially-stretched or working through other setbacks while struggling to pay for veterinary bills and supplies for their beloved animal.

That’s why Marin Humane is launching a bold initiative called the Marin Humane Pet Safety Net to ensure no one in Marin has to make a heartbreaking choice. We envision Marin Humane to be a first resource instead of a last resort. The Marin Humane Pet Safety Net will provide veterinary care, vaccinations, nutritious food, and other services to pets of low-income residents by creating a lifeline that will connect animals in need with local veterinarians and other vital services.

We want to do everything possible to keep pets healthy and keep them with their guardians who love them. To support this innovative program, please make a donation to our Pet Safety Net program today.
